In recent years, with the growing shortage of oil resources, oil composition becomes heavy, sulfur, chlorine, metal and other impurities in the oil increased significantly, various hydrogenation process corresponding to get rapid development, and advanced hydrogen technology have been developed and developed rapidly. In this paper, the development of hydrocarbon steam reforming technology, was introduced from the development trend of the industry, from the selection of raw materials, reaction mechanism, process, development, catalyst technology waste heat utilization and environmental protection requirements and other aspects and draw the conclusion:Industrial hydrocarbon steam reforming device to do more and more, from the thousands of Li per hour to the maximum hydrogen production can be 230000 Nm3/h for hydrogen production. Hydrogen raw materials develop diversity, now with coal, coke, petroleum coke as the main raw material of solid raw material;with natural gas, refinery gas, naphtha, etc as hydrocarbon feedstock;with heavy oil, residual oil, asphalt as other main heavy hydrocarbon feedstock;diversity of raw materials divide for the vast space selection process of hydrogen production. Reapplication of pre reforming technology, pre reforming technology can effectively reduce the furnace volume, reduce the investment of equipment, can resolve the problem of large scale from, engineering design and construction. Conversion catalyst is more advanced, to adapt to higher carbon space velocity and more widely raw material, to adapt to the anti carbon and toxic stronger ability development. Refinery gas contain rich hydrogen recovery by more widely. The more optimization process, maximize the use of waste heat of hydrogen conversion furnace flue gas, air can be preheated to 500℃ and then enters the reformer reduces the energy consumption of equipment. Improve style of furnace type and operating parameters, performance for the "three high and one low" : high exit temperature, high velocity, high heat flux, low water carbon ratio. Hydrogen and self-protection system more perfect, realize the automatic control device for hydrocarbon conversion hydrogen production water vapor, the advanced control system can operate parameters on-line diagnosis, treatment is not normal, non disturbance switch can also realize the change of raw materials.
