The method of soaking process is a traditional technology for brown rice to germinate. In soaking process, the crack percentage increased and the amount of nutrients decreased, which led to the decrease of edible quality and nutritional quality of germinated brown rice. To solve these problems,our group has proposed a method of new process of germinated brown rice production of continuous variable humidification way, compared with the traditional method, this process which has higher nutritional value and edible quality could be produced can reduce the sewage discharge, decrease the cost of the late dry. However, there is no appropriative continuous variable humidifying germinated brown rice production equipment both in China and abroad and the influence between equipment technology and process parameters on mixing has no research. Stirring is requried when brown rice is humidifying, stirring is a mixing process, the more mixing uniformity, the better humidifying, humidifying uniformity is directly related to the quality of the germinated brown rice. Therefore, based on the guidance of continuous variable humidification of germinated brown rice process, design of continuous variable humidification germinated brown rice production equipment is very theoretical and practical significant for the industrialization of germinated brown rice.Nowadays, domestic and international researchers mainly predict and evaluate mixing process by experimental method, but experimental method can not describe concrete mixing process, many parameter information is difficult to obtain, modern three-dimensional simulation technology can solve all the above problems. On the basis of the discrete element method,particle radial mixing process and mechanism in the machine is analysed,the influence law of process parameters which is rotation speed and filling rate on mixing degree is studied. And the mathematic relation between mixability and revolutions of agitating core is described quantitatively, analyzing the influence law of process parameters which is rotation speed and filling rate on energy consumption. On the basis of the above research results, the germinated brown rice machine is ameliorated and twin-shaft paddle germinated brown rice machine is designed. Studying particle axial mixing process and mechanism in the machine, the mathematic relation between variable coefficient and revolutions of agitating core is described quantitatively, analyzing the influence of rotation speed on energy consumption, finding the axial mixing performance is good. Extracting the germinated brown rice machine design process parameters as needed, the design of germinated brown rice machine is completed.The main contents and conclusions of this research are obtained as follows:(1)Results show that convective mixing and four partial mixing characteristics control the radial mixing homogeneity process of segregation particles in U-germinated brown rice machine. Within the scope of the speed parameters, mixability of segregation particles is independent of rotation speed of agitating shaft, but has direct correlation with revolutions. The relation between mixability and revolutions conforms to the exponential growth model. The filling rate of 44.2% mixes fastest, and has the best mixing effect. Comprehensive consideration mixing degree and energy consumption, getting the optimal process parameters:rotation speed is 30r/min, the filling rate is 44.2%. U-germinated brown rice machine has good radial mixing, axial mixing performance is bad,has the disadvantage of humidifying uniform,but the research results can provide the basis and reference for equipment improvement and operating control of bulk material in the industry of the augmenting of mix.(2)Results show that convective mixing, diffusive mixing and shear mixing control the axial mixing homogeneity process in ameliorated twin-shaft paddle germinated brown rice machine, and the performance of axial mixing is good, the machine can be used as industrialization equipment of germinated brown rice. Mixability of segregation particles is independent of rotation speed of agitating shaft, but has direct correlation with revolutions. The relation between mixability and revolutions conforms to the exponential growth model. The optimal speed is 60 rpm.(3)Under the guidance of the theory study, extracting the power, speed and other design parameters, the key components and auxiliary components of twin-shaft paddle germinated brown rice machine are designed to achieve humidifying uniformity and continuous controllable variable humidifying.
