Because the characteristics that are convenient transportation, easy management, large transport volume and small amount of loss, pipe has become the main way of oil and gas storage and transportation. People destructing pipes artificially to steal oil or the leakage of aging pipeline will results malignant accidents, so it is important for the safety of pipeline transportation and safety monitoring of pipeline has become a very important link during transporting oil. With the development of pipeline transportation, early artificial line detection technology which is poor real-time property and low precision has been unable to meet the requirements of monitoring. A variety of new detection technique was developing in the recent years.The existing detection method such as the negative pressure wave method, balance method and pressure method are able to easily detect large and sudden leakage, but to difficulty detect the tiny leakage. And such as the internal detection method, PPA method and acoustic method, have the high precision, but also have high cost. This paper presents a micro line detection method, and according to the method designed an oil pipeline leak monitoring system. On the basis of the existing detection method in the world,this method proposed two innovation. One is that when monitor the micro leakage, particularly during the early stage of the loss after destructing pipes, it can timely and effectively transmits leak information to the control center. The other, it can narrow the scope of the leak location.In this paper, the leakage of oil pipeline design of the wireless monitoring system is divided into two parts for real-time monitoring and information transmission. Each section of the pipeline real-time monitoring part installs MSP430-controller for controlling the self- developed micro line leak detection sensor to collect level signal of ports. According to the high and low level signal, we can determine whether the pipeline leaked. At the same time, the system gleans temperature and pressure information of pipeline, as the supplementary information for detecting pipeline. In message transfer part, the pipeline divides into groups for being managed. Information within the group is transmitted by multi computer communication method through with bus master-slave structure. Then,system through the CC1101 wireless communication module sends information to the relay unit. Finally, the EM770 W module transfers the information to the control center through the 3G wireless network.The software part is finished design by C language in the IAR programming environment. Software design including the main program of pipeline monitoring system and subprogram includes electrical level monitoring, temperature monitoring and pressure monitoring.The design meets the demand for oil pipeline leakage monitoring. When leakage occurred, pipelineā€˜s conditions will be send to control center in early time. The system had spot and simulate test in the laboratory. The test results show that the system can timely and effectively detected the level change of pipeline external port, and the CC1101 module and the EM770 W module can also the normal communication. The test results can be sent to the computer through the 3G wireless network and display the results on the computer.
