Ammonia synthetic tower is the core of the synthetic ammonia equipment.Supported with skirt, large temperature gradient and great local stress will occur to the supported area of bearing, leading to tower failure. For small and medium-sized tower, the skirt structure was gradually replaced by bearing type. In this paper, taking ammonia synthetic tower as an example, the ammonia synthetic tower skirt and its structural supporting area will be analyzed, by adopting finite element analysis software ANSYS. The main research contents are as follows:Stress analysis for the support of ammonia synthetic tower is firstly proceeded.Given the unreasonable structure, three kinds of improvement are put forward on the stress analysis, respectively. On this basis, further structural improvement is made to meet the requirement of strength and stiffness. Meanwhile, the channel steel structure design will be optimized, followed by comparative analysis of before and after optimization.Then, mechanical stress, thermal stress, mechanical and thermal interactive stress analysis and stress evaluation of the bearing type ammonia synthesis tower structure and skirt structural supported area will be undertaking, separately.Furthermore, two kinds of supporting area structure design will be optimized, by adopting the Structural Optimization Method, followed by comparative analysis of before and after optimization.Finally, stress analysis and stress evaluation for Components of ammonia synthetic tower head, combined with the chassis, will be conducted. After that,choosing the distance from the bottom of the plate to the head, as design variables, to optimize the design of its support position, followed by comparative analysis of before and after optimization.In this paper, stress analysis of synthetic tower pedestal supporting structure will be done by ANSYS, verifying the reliability of bearing type support structure and the feasibility of optimization design. Temperature stress between chassis and lower head is very small, so that it should be widely used in modern times. The research in this thesis has the theoretical significance on the design of bearing type ammonia synthesis tower pedestal.
