| Lotus seed is an important health food with prolific nutrients. With the improvement of people’s living standards and health awareness, lotus market demands have a stable increase. Lotus processing includes shelling, coring and skining. Lotus shelling is the first step of processing, each lotus shelling device can only process one size lotus due to the fixed channel. Therefore, before lotus seed shellling, we need to screen of classification with at least 8-10 levels. This processing method not only increases the screening and storage workload, but also hard to organize the production. To solve these problems, this paper aims to develop a adaptive lotus seed sheller which can meet the requirements of different size. Therefore, the main work of this paper is completed as follows:(1) Analyzing the existing problems of lotus Sheller and according to lotus shape features, an adaptive shelling methods is designed to solve the classification problems before processing. To matching calculation shelling parameters by calculating shelling time of different sizes lotus. To reduce shelling pressure, a new hob combinations is proposed based on a combination of conventional hob, and analyzed shelling mechanism and the forces of two hob combinations.(2) According to the request of lotus seed shell automatically, an adaptive shelling composed of 10 shell station has been designed. Sheller mechanism includes a feed device, adaptive devices, shell equipment, unloading and gear equipment. Based on the software NX8.0 to establish three-dimensional virtual prototyping.(3) According to the work flow and the beat requirements of lotus sheller, the cam timing of mechanical action process is studied. By analytical method, the cam curve is derivation. Finally using NX8.0 to have parametric modeling and motion simulation for cam, Through output simulation results to verify the validity of the cam curve design.(4) Completed the engineering drawing design of lotus seed sheller, carried out experiments on principle prototype and tested the experimental results of lotus seed sheller. According to the experimental results, shelling process parameters are optimized combination and basic reached the expected goal. |
