| With the development of processing industry and the innovation of all kinds of processing technology, the requirement on the material properties is improving. Nearly thirty years, magnetization technology to improve the material properties has become the focus of people, so the rules and mechanism of magnetic treatment has become a hot topic for scholars. Trend to the hot topic, in this paper, influence of magnetizing treatment on high speed steel was studied.The waste of small power motor was converted into a magnetizing device as recycling use, by this device, the affect of the magnetization process on the high speed steel about the wear resistance and hardness was explored between magnetized and unmagnetized ones. To improve the automation of magnetization device, a simple manipulator was designed preliminary, which is mainly controlled by the PLC and limit switch.The experimental results show that magnetic treatment can improve the hardness of high speed steel, in the specific electromagnetic frequency, with the increase of magnetizing time, high speed steel hardness gradually increases, the best magnetization time was45s; in a certain period of time, with the increase of the magnetizing current frequency, increment to the hardness of high speed steel became lower, namely the effect by the low frequency magnetization is better. So magnetic treatment with the suitable magnetic parameters can improve the hardness performance of high speed steel.In order to explore the mechanism of magnetization treatment materials within the organization, the microstructure of sample analysis experiment was made. It is found that after the appropriate and effective magnetic treatment, some grain of high speed steel was refined, as the reason of the material properties changing.The effect and mechanism of the magnetizing treatment on high-speed steel cutting tool about the wear resistance and the surface roughness of workpiece were studied by the wear experiments. The experiments show that magnetic treatment can reduce the wear volume of high speed steel, and the friction coefficient and friction torque of high-speed steel after the magnetization also reduce accordingly. Therefore, the experiments show that magnetization can improve the wear resistance of high speed steel, and when the magnetizing frequency is2Hz, effect of magnetizing is better. And the surface roughness of workpiece which was processed by magnetized high speed steel tools decreased than ones by unmagnetized tools.Furthermore, by this study, it is to be known that magnetization treatment is feasible, effective, energy-saving and environment-protection. |
