With the development of chemical industry, organic liquid is widely used in all domains of production and life. Its increasing demand promotes the number of organic liquid reserves increasing and expanding. However, most of organic liquids are flammable, explosive, volatile and easy diffusion, once an organic liquid pool fires and explodes, it will cause serious damage.When an organic liquid tank happen a leakage accident, the main type is pool fire. Strong thermal radiation of pool fire flame would do harm to the surrounding people and equipment. What is worse, it makes adjacent tanks in the same reservior increasing pressure and shell failure, so as to expand fire further and hamper firefighting and rescue.Firstly, the paper analyzes the risk characteristics of organic liquid, summing up the types and cases of organic liquid storage tank accidents, finding out its causes. Analyze the organic liquid tank leakage, evaporation and diffusion to determine a fire response time. Then, analyze the combustion characteristic parameters and combustion mechanism by using three classic models to determine the radiation heat flux of pool fire and discuss their scopes of application. In addition, combining with the pool fire radiation effects and the tank failure probability model, the paper determines the risk acceptable level of tank failure caused by Domino effect. Consider the current state of organic liquid tanks and summarize the situation of tank area fire. Finally, for gasoline tanks area as an example, we analyze its fire protection facilities, safety distances of adjacent tanks and firemen, calculate fire protection spacing of the fire ability and fire rescue, which has a guiding significance for fire prevention and rescue.To sum up, this paper analyze the consequences of pool fire accident, the Domino effects probability and fire rescue, providing a theory evidence for the fire controlling facilities design of organic liquid storage tanks and a data support for the firefighting and rescue efficiently and scientifically.
