The combined process of beneficiation and metallurgy were used to recover iron, titanium, vanadium, and scandium from the vanadium-titanium magnetite of PuMa, which grade of Fe is20.67%, TiO2is5.26%, V2O5is0.32%, and Sc is37.70g/t.The results of process mineralogy show that Fe mainly exists in vanadium-titanium magnetite, which accounts for23.61%; TiO2mainly exists in ilmenite, which accounts for32.32%. Part of magnetite with the shape of hypautomorphic-granular are wrapped by the ilmenite of allotriomorphic granular texture, and both of them are filled in amphibole of automorphic granular texture, which goes against to the recovery of iron. Flake hematite is hard to liberate from ilmenite solid solution, and it will influence the titanium concentrate grade. The fine ilmenite also will go against to the recovery of titanium. V2O5mainly exists in titanium magnetite, and it will be recovered together with titanium magnetite. The dispersed distribution of Sc contributes to the difficulty of the comprehensive utilization.The stage grinding and stage concentration flowsheet of one stage grinding-low intensity magnetic separation-discarding tailing via high intensity magnetic-high intensity magnetic separation concentrate regrinding-low intensity magnetic separation-weakly magnetic tailings shaking tables cleaning was adopted to recover magnetite and ilmenite. The best grinding fitness and magnetic field intensity conditions were determined. They are that one stage grinding fitness was-0.074mm80%, the low magnetic field intensity was0.15T, the high magnetic field intensity was0.75T, and the secondary grinding was-0.038mm60%. The total iron concentrate with a Fe grade of62.61%and a recovery of27.35%were obtained, which contained with V2O5grade of1.01%and recovery of28.56%. And a titanium concentrate with the TiO2grade of46.71%and the recovery of34.92%was finally obtained.Scandium mainly exists in the silicate minerals, and it enriched in tailings after dressing experiment. Thus, scandium is hard to further enrich by ore dressing methods. The total tailings were used for acid leaching. The leaching rate can reach83.84%with the condition of concentrated acid, high temperature and the addition of scandium infusions. The experiment of extraction-washing-reverse extraction was explored.20%of P204and80%of260kerosene were used as extractant, O/A=1:10;90%of concentrated hydrochloric acid concentrated hcl and10%hydrogen peroxide solution were used as detergent, O/A=1:1, washing four times;90%of2.5mol/L sodium hydroxide solution and10%of ethanol were used as extracting agent, O/A=1:1. A scandium extraction rate of98.73%and back extraction rate of85.88%were finally obtained in this condition.
