Stainless steel mesh wire the subject researched is mainly used to make stainless steel screen mesh, which is widely used in mining, coal industry.The cross section of this mesh wire is approximate trapezium, so it belongs to special shaped steel wire. The mesh wire has a small size and a high standard of accuracy,but the stiffness of the rolling mill to product the mesh wire is not high at the present, which leads the product can’t meet the requirements. Therefore, the main task of the subject is trying to find a way to improve the mill stiffness, to improve the traditional production equipment, making it can produce qualified stainless steel mesh wire.Around improving mill stiffness, eventually making the mesh wire products meet the accuracy requirement, this paper mainly did the following research work: understanding the basic principles and main structure characteristics of the short stress line mill, which is the major equipment in the production of profile, then based on that groove design and parameter calculation can be done, the rod, the key parts such as bearing and rod are designed in an innovative way; According to the determined groove and related process parameters, using the finite element analysis software DEFORM-3D to do the dynamic simulation of the stainless steel mesh wire rolling process, we will get the stress and strain damage and rolling force of rolled piece in the process of rolling, then we can analyze and evaluate the rationality of rolling technology and find existing problems, which will provide the basis for the follow-up frame optimization design; The geometry model of rolling mill(including ordinary rolling mill and short stress line mill type) is built by Pro/E, imported it into finite element analysis software ANSYS, setting up the finite element model, the static analysis and modal analysis are carried on. Then we can contrast the strength, stiffness and vibration characteristic of this two kinds of models and draw corresponding conclusions.
