Up to now, the glaze spraying process is finished mainly by labor operation, and its working environment is severe, its job is heavy, and the quantity and efficiency of its production are poor. With the development of the industrialization, it has become inevitable trend that the robot to replace manpower to complete glaze spraying. However, the widely used glaze spraying robots were hindered by the uncertainty of glaze spraying model.In this paper, an air spray gun glaze spraying universal model was proposed by spraying experiment and the simulation calculation of the process of air spray gun glaze spraying had been conducted. Genetic algorithm and the least square method were used to fit the glaze layer thickness data whose distribution type was confirmed. Used regression analysis method, the correlation was preliminary obtained between glaze spraying process parameters and glaze layer thickness distribution structure parameters, and then based on the relationship, an air gun glaze spraying universal model was obtained. Compared with the traditional model, the proposed model can predict glaze layer thickness distribution under different atomizing pressures, spraying distances, glaze flow rates and viscosities.
