SO2 is important trace gas, and one of the main sources of formation of acid rain. High concentrations of SO2 directly endanger human health, ambient air quality standard explicitly in 1996 pointed out that, SO2 is the normal monitoring program of our country. Although there has already been more and more study on monitoring of SO2, the study based on the data of remote sensing is relatively less, this paper uses the environment remote sensing monitoring methods, find out the temporal-spatial distribution of SO2 in the troposphere, and prove the remote sensing is the quick, effective and practical tool in environmental monitoring.This article based on Band residual method, pre-process the level-2 data which stored as stripe format by VISAN software, achieving the read in, read out, filter and extract of SO2 Concentration. Using the special analysis module of ArcGIS software, determine the best interpolation precision of SO2, analysis the spatial distribution characteristics of SO2 Concentration of atmospheric boundary layer in china; and analysis the temporal changes of SO2 Concentration from two aspects, inter-annual change and intra-annual variability. Combined with statistic data about total energy consumption, chemical GDP, metallurgical GDP, Industrial GDP and car ownership, to discuss the reasons of Spatial-Temporal differences formation.This thesis has come to the following conclusions:(1) The distribution of the high value region of SO2 Concentration was “Two-Centre and One-Ribbon”, and the low value region was “Two-Ribbons”. Two-Centre means it has two high value centers, the first is a triangular area centers on Taiyuan, Zhengzhou, Jinan, the range was larger; the second is distributed around Chongqing, the range was smaller. One-Ribbon means the secondary high value area like a ribbon, start from the west of Tibet, across the Tibet plateau, Sichuan Basin, the North China Plain and the Northeast Plain, eventually reached Greater Khingan prefecture. Tow-Ribbons means it has two low value region distribute the south and north side of “Two-Centre and One-Ribbon”, the range of north is bigger than south.(2) In the inter-annual change aspects, SO2 Concentration appears fluctuated rising trend in china, according to the changing speed, there are two phases: slowly rising and rapidly rising. Between 2005 and 2008 belongs to the stage of slowly rising, and between 2009 and 2013 belongs to the stage of rapidly rising. The range of high value region of SO2 Concentration extend on all sides from one year to another, the high value region of Sichuan Basin which around Chongqing extended to southeast mostly, the North China Plain which centers on Taiyuan, Zhengzhou, Jinan extended to south. The Middle value region extended to south and north sides. Two low value region were decrease, until 2013, the low value region and the secondary low value region were disappeared.(3) In the intra-annual change aspects, the sequence from high to low was winter, autumn, spring and summer. Affecting factors of the distribution of SO2 Concentration may be Plateau monsoon, temperature, level of economic development, population density, Fired, car ownership, industrial type and so on.
