During the drilling process, the complexity of rock formation, the diversity of PDC bit structure and the unpredictability of the interaction between bit and formation make the loading and motion of a PDC bit difficult to be researched, which will result in the lacking of technical support during the designing and analyzing process of a PDC bit.Considering both rock formation character and PDC bit structure, the author presents digital model reconstruction methods on both inhomogeneous and aeolotropic rock and PDC bit with all features, and moreover puts forward the digitalized interaction theory of rock and PDC bit in both geometry and physics aspects. Based on these methods and theories, with the utilizing of Matlab, the digitalized model for PDC bit is established, which including features of main cutters, gage cutters, buff cutters and gauge structures, and moreover, the3-D model construction of intermediate rock, rock with gravels and aeolotropic rock are built. With these two models and the digitalized interaction theory of rock and PDC bit, the system has simulated the rock-breaking procedure of a PDC bit in the downhole, and put out simulating results including the load status of the PDC bit, downhole pattern and the like, and finally completed the development of the Digitalized PDC Bit Drilling System, which will provide technical supports for the designing and analyzing of a PDC bit.
