In this thesis, two kinds of diols, which owned UV-responsible and flame retardant ability respectively, were prepared. UV-responsive diol named BAPBDA was synthesized through the reaction between Aniline-2,4-disulfonic acid and N-Phenyldiethanolamine. In the mean time, flame retardant diol named DEOPO was prepared. In this case,9,10-Dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene 10-Oxide reacted with Diethanolamine and Formaldehyde. The structures of these two diols had been confirmed by 1HNMR.Using BAPBDA as chain extender, a series of waterborne polyurethane dispersions with different ratio of BAPBDA were prepared with the ingredients including PTMG-2000, IPDI, BDO and DMPA. Based on the measurement of FT-IR, BAPBDA, of which the content was totally controllable, was successfully introduced in the main chain of Polyurethane. Study on UV-Vis spectra, size distribution of particles of obtained PU dispersions and PU films demonstrated the effect of UV light on the configuration of-N=N-bond.With the same method, with only a slight difference that MDEA substituted DMPA as chain extender, a series of DEOPO-containing dispersions were prepared. According to FT-IR, DEOPO was successfully introduced to the main chain, with the upmost content of 7.5%. TGA measurement displayed that because of the benzene and phosphorus element the carbon residue of PU series increased. MCC measurement verified DEOPO imparted flame retardance to polyurethane.Simultaneously using BAPBDA and DEOPO as chain extender, a series of waterborne polyurethane dispersions were prepared. Both of these two molecules were introduced to the main chain according to the result of FT-IR spectra. The obtained S0-S3 series dispersions were also UV-responsive. TGA measurement showed similar result with PU0-PU3. MCC measurement verified DEOPO imparted flame retardance to polyurethane.
