Workover rig is essential equipment of lifting the tubing string and replacing downhole tools in various oilfield, which plays an important role in increasing oil production to China and improving economic. With the essential of requirements in high efficienty, low cast and environmental requirements continue to increase, simulating the derrick system has important engineering value on the vehicle-mounted workover rig in this paper. As the key equipment of drilling operation, the vehicle-mounted workover rig has some advantage that the failure rate is low, the operation is simple and convenient, safe and reliable and the migration performance is good, so it can meet the various needs of drilling operation. At the same time, along with the expansion of the international market environment, the vehicle-mounted workover rig demand further increase. However, as the strut components in derrick system, hydraulic cylinders and locking ring, improper design may cause the waste of raw materials, or even an accident in the job. With the continuous development of computer technology, finite element method has been widely used in engineering design. By simulating the harsh working environments and complex stress situation, we can get the date which come meet the needs of engineering.It has done a lot of preparatory for the study of vehicle-mounted workover rig before the simulation research. The studies include the structural design of all the key components and the design ideas of derrick system abroad. On this basis, the technical requirement for the Liaohe Oilfield workover rig proposed an advanced, flexible derrick system design. Secondly, I complete the modeling of parts and set all kinds of material properties through the use of SolidWorks software, and then it makes a statics simulation for the hydraulic cylinder and locking ring in derrick system by using ANSYS on the basis of the principle of finite element. Then it got the static stress and displacement in typical conditions, so as to make a foundation to oprimize the program.Modal analysis is the study method for the characteristics of structural dynamics. It can identify the natural frequencies and mode shapes for a structural, effectively avoiding the resonance phenomenon at work. Natural frequencies and mode shapes are important parameter for the design of structure withstand dynamic loads, but also based on the analysis of dynamic loads. It got the first six steps natural frequencies and mode shapes by using ANSYS software to make the modal analysis of hydraulic cylinder in derrick system.
