Research On Leak Detection And Location For Long-distace Oil Pipeline

Leak occurs frequently in the oil-transferring, causing the waste of natural resources, environmental pollution and other issues. But the oil spill threat to the surrounding thousands of people’s life and property safety is the most serious. Therefore, how to detect the leakage, leakage position and spillage timely and accurately has significant meaning to us.Based on the crude oil pipeline of Wuyan-line, and analyzed the process requirements in detail on the refining of crude oil pipeline between Wuqi and Yanlian,we designed a set of automatic on-line testing leak alarm system and positioning system by the SCADA system. The system run the total module in real-time leak detection system, and completed all the hardware modules of the system with the method of detection and location of negative pressure wave signal as the theoretical basis. It also established automatic detection system of comprehensive analysis of basic data, the data acquisition, the data remote transmission technology, and a series of functions included the field control, trend analysis, alarm management, operation records, report print etc. In this paper, combining with the production practice and the related parameters, we conducted the overall framework of the system from the two aspects of hardware and software. Hardware data were achieved by acquisition equipment based on SCADA system, including local pressure, flow, temperature signal data, and realized data communication through the local area network. The software used the configuration software Citect as the software interface, and composed the leak detection system by calling the leakage detecting alarming, and positioning module.The system can be used on crude oil pipeline leak detection in long distance after debugging and running, and detected the location sensitively and accurately. Moreover, it has strong applicability in fast and sudden leakage and provides transportation for oil pipeline monitoring analysis to meet the management needs of the long pipeline to ensure the safe operation of pipelines.
