In the domestic and foreign oil refining enterprises, SOx, NOx and particulate matter released from fluidized catalytic cracking unit(FCCU) were the mainly air pollution sources. With the increasement requirement on the air quality in China, it faces on huge challenges for oil refining enterprises in terms of flue gas pollutants control. How to treat the pollutants in the flue gas is one of urgent environment problem. The aim of this work is to study on the flue gas purification process in oil refining processes of Sinopec Shanghai petrochemical co., LTD. The current methods and their characters for NOx treatment in flue gas were discussed. In addition, the feasibility and advantages for NOx treatment in flue gas by ozone gas were investigated. The experimental results showed that: NOx concentrations in the outlet of flue gas were ranged from 5.2 to 6.5 mg/m3 in the presence of ozone, and the removal efficiencies of NOx were more than 85%. Moreover, the removal efficiencies of SO2 and particulate matter were also high. These results indicated that SOx, NOx and particulate matter can be effective removed by ozone gas. Meanwhile, the outlet of flue gas can meet the standard of 《 Emission standard of pollutans for petroleum refining industry 》(GB31570-2015). It should take into account the effect of reaction temperature, reaction time and O3/NOx molar ratio on flue gas by ozone gas.
