Correlation Research On Historical Evolution And Design Methods Of Avant-garde Garments

The avant-garde style of garments is a leading-edge field of fashion design. It not only reflects the idea and thought of cultural & art frontier in the contemporary era, but also reflects people’s aesthetic idea and their understanding of garments at present. At the present stage, the avant-garde style of garments has produced a big influence on today’s garments development. Therefore, through fully analyzing the avant-garde style of garments, this paper tries to research the development & evolution, appearance features and expression techniques of the avant-garde style of garments in an all-around, multi-angle and objective way so as to have an objective and comprehensive understanding of the diversification for the avant-garde styles of garments. Besides, combining modern design methods, this paper tries to grasp the pulse of avant-garde design of modern garments, and provide a new idea for the development of the avant-garde design of Chinese garments.In "Chapter Ⅰ:Introduction", this paper first introduces the research background and expounds the research methods, objectives and significance. In Chapter Ⅱ, it introduces the concept definition of the avant-garde style of garments, its social background, as well as the history and evolution during 1960s-1970s. Chapter Ⅲ analyzes the features of the avant-garde style of garments in detail from five aspects, namely modeling, colors, materials, patterns and accessories. In Chapter IV, this paper mainly introduces the expression technique of the avant-garde style in modern fashion design. Chapter Ⅴ combines the design concept of the avant-garde style of garments with modern design methods, and probes into and summarizes the innovative techniques of avant-garde garments. Chapter Ⅵ illustrates the issues expounded above through analyzing the works of internationally representative avant-garde fashion designers. Chapter Ⅶ analyzes the consumer groups and consumer market of the avant-garde style of garments on the basis of the domestic market, and raises the prospect for the development trend of domestic avant-garde garments.Through the research on the avant-garde style of garments, we may feel the design concept of the avant-garde style, as well as the psychological demand for diversified aesthetic ideas. This research can promote our understanding about the design concept and methods of the avant-garde style of garments. More importantly, it can further prompt us to broaden the design thought and design technique of avant-garde style of garments, and provide a possibility and new design space for deepening the connotation of the avant-garde style of domestic garments.
