In recent years, the roller washing machines are gradually entering thousands of families and developing in the direction of high-technology: from the original pure pursuit of convenience and cleanness to energy and water conservation, green health environmental protection, better washing result and etc. The future development trends of the roller washing machines will be functional diversification, integration and humanization.The research focuses on the influence factors like washing and dewatering time, water temperature, rpm and washing cycles on the effects of decontamination and appearance. The research results can provide a basis of the parameter settings especially involved in washing cotton knitted fabric, silk knitted fabric, down jacket and wool fabric. Thus the project intelligently supports the design process of the roller washing machines by its automatically conferring protection to the washings to satisfy different demands of the roller washing machines forthe different clothes.Six stained pieces of cloth of cotton knitted fabric, silk knitted fabric, down jacket and wool fabric with stains of red wine, juice, milk, mud, carbon black and oil are made first. Then the orthogonal test of four factors at three different levels by five factors at two different levels and range analysis are used to sift out the optimized washing plan:The best washing mode is determined by orthogonal test using detergency as index and the main influencing factors on the appearance of the cloths after washing are found out and experimentally validated.The results of the orthogonal tests show that:For silk knitted fabric, washing time, water temperature, rpm and the washing Cycles have proven to be the main influences on its detergency and its appearance is mainly affected by the washing time, rpm and water temperature. For cotton knitted fabric, washing time, water temperature, and rpm are the main influences on its detergency and rpm, rotating speed and washing time mainly on its shrinkage and weft-knitted structure. For wool fabric, washing time, water temperature, rotating speed and rpm have proven to be the main influences on its detergency; water temperature, washing time and rotating speed mainly on its shrinkage and washing time, water temperature and the washing Cycles mainly on the weft-knitted structure. For down jacket, washing time, water temperature, water quantity, rpm and the washing Cycles are the main influences on its detergency;washing time, rpm, dewatering rotational Speed and rpm mainly on the fill power and washing time, water temperature and rpm on its deformation.It should be noted that the higher detergency is not always better and there exits different influential factors on each fabric and stain. The detergency and its appearance after washing should be taken into considerations when setting the washing parameters to sift out the optimized washing plan.
