| River health is important determinant to sustainable development for human. However, because the urban economy develops rapidly, river has been gotten different levels of influence and change. Riparian is important index for river health evaluation, and has been accepted some intervention from human activities. Riparian areas provide with important ecological functions such as living areas for living beings, medium for changing energy and matter in water and land. Also, riparian areas can slow down the speed that pollutant sources from land especially non-point source pollution into water. Meanwhile urban riparian areas have special features of the functions, it also provides social services such as stage for human outdoor game. Healthy riparian areas are precondition that social functions and ecological functions can both achieve, riparian areas health evaluation and protection have been a hot topic in landscape ecology and environmental science et al.The head water of the Huangpu River is important drinking water source in Shanghai, for reducing impacts for expanding amount and expansion of the water supply, the Shanghai written the Head Water of Huangpu Water Source Planning. It proves the significance of urban water source protection. The Riparian area plays a very important role to health urban water source, increased water supply range directly influences head riparian condition, such as vegetationã€structure and function of riparian areas, et al. so it is of great significance to evaluation riparian health and analysis backside impact mechanism.Depending on "Important Lakes Health Assessment (Huangpu river)"project, the study area is the head water of Huangpu river, the objective is to assess the ecosystem health of head water of Huangpu river. This paper used in combination with GIS, Fragstats, SPSS, MODIS, MRT et al to building evaluation index system of riparian ecosystem health, and analyzing health condition and its temporal and spatial characteristics of health change of riparian areas, and discussing influence factors of health change, they can provide some help for urban riparian health manage.To assess effectively riparian ecosystem health, the study chose production, stability, service function and recovery ability as A index, class B of production is NDVI index, class B of stability include Shannon variety index, Average patch fractal of Area weighted index, fragmentation index, contagion index, forest fragmentation index and forest Patch cohesion index, class B of service function is ecosystem services of land, class B of recovery ability is ability of land type being natural condition, there are nine class B index to assess health condition. The head water of Huangpu river is divided into Wujing section, Main head-water section, Big maogang section, Yuan xiejin section, Xietang section, Taipu river section, the results shows that health of Big maogang, Yuan xiejin and Xietang is the first, and health of Main head-water is the second, and health of Wujing is the third. The conclusion is consistent with lots of site survey.The paper studied riparian spatial characteristics of the upstream Huangpu River in the longitudinal dimension and a transverse dimension, riparian zone health characteristic changes from upstream to downstream are defined as the longitudinal dimension, the transverse dimension means that riparian zone health disparities in the southern and the northern shore, and different scales riparian width changes. Longitudinal scale according to 1.5km dividing along the river on both sides of the Huangpu River, then producing respectively 61 and 59 study areas in the north and south, using 120 study areas to explore health space changes the upper reaches to downstream of the Huangpu River, as well as the differences between the different regions of the river. The results show that health status is decreased from riparian upstream to downstream. The health of downstream zone is weak. Dividing Lateral dimension is on the basis of different longitudinal sections, to establish 10m,50m, 100m,200m,500m,1000m and 1500m scales buffer zones in 120 river sections, using 840 Study units of the formation to analyze riparian zone health changes in lateral dimension, and try to explore the sensitive scale of riparian zone health changes, the concludes proved that the health of riparian zone is impacted significantly. Health subtotal analysis in all the seven scales showed that 200m scale riparian zone is the health of the common occurrence of scale change.To explore temporal characteristics of riparian zone health in the upper reaches of the Huangpu River, the study selected 2000,2005,2010 and 2013 to explore respectively time-varying characteristics of the riparian health on both sides. The results indicated the riparian health were significantly improved from 2000 to 2005 and from 2005 to 2010 on both sides, but riparian change is little from 2010 to 2013. The health of the riparian zone in seven research scales were continued to improve in 2000 and 2005, while in the 200m range have certain health conditions decline in 2010 and 2013, inter-annual differences of health status narrow down outside the 200m range. Interannual variability did not change significantly except WuJing section, the health of the other river section was significantly improved in 2000-2013 years. |
