With the rapid development of non-blast furnace ironmaking and shortened process of steel production, and for the growing of direct reduced iron production, the requirement of direct reduced iron pellets is increasing. But the raw materials and processes have specific requirements. In this paper, with different production process,the reduction behavior of pellets with different binders was researched under different temperature and time conditions.In this paper, there are mainly two kinds of binders, respectively bentonite and F binder. Pellets were prepared for the study of the "one-step" direct reduction and the "two-step" direct reduction. The metallization, the rate of swelling and porosity of the four kinds of pellets were measured after reduction. From the researches of their behavior of reduction, the influence of different temperature and time was researched,and the changes of volume and porosity of pellets before and after reduction was measured. Also the changes of compressive strength of the pellets,as well as the changes of the form of iron and metallization were studied. This study found, with the increasing of reduction temperature, the compressive strength of pellets increased,while the swelling and porosity reduced. With prolonging the reduction time, different indicators of pellets shows different characteristics of changes.
