In this paper, on the basis of molecular design, about the Synthesis of the alkyl alcohol polyoxyethylene ether sulfonate, two different process routes are studied. In the sulfur alkylation process, we regard fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether(AEO-5) as raw material, through sodium treatment, under the alkaline condition it occur Williamson etherification reaction with 3-chloro-2-hydroxy propyl sulfonic acid synthesis of a has a new structure of anionic nonionic mixed type surfactant. Allylation sulfonation process using fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether(AEO-5) and allyl glycidyl ether as main raw material, first allyl ether epoxy groups under alkaline conditions occur ring opening, then AEO-5 hydroxyl alkoxy anion occurred nucleophilic substitution reaction generated allyl ether derivatives, intermediates, with the free radical addition reaction of double bond of the allyl ether derivatives with sodium bisulfite, lauryl alcohol polyoxyethylene ether sodium sulfonate. The better reaction conditions of the two synthetic routes were determined, the yield of the product was improved, and the surface active agents were separated and purified.Effects of Calcium concentration, polymer molecular weight, temperature and different medium on the surfactant aqueous solution of AESO-5 surface performance were investigated.and compared with the anionic surfactants(SDBS). The results showed that the AESO-5 have lower surface tension compared with SDBS and the cmc of AESO-5 have an order of magnitude lower than that of SDBS; the surface tension of the ASESO-5 surfactant system was increased with the increase of the levels of salinity; but decreased with the increase of the temperature of the system; The addition of polymer increased the surface tension of the system.Through the study of the surfactant solution of AESO-5 and interfacial properties of Gudao crude oil showed, the oil-water interfacial tension was decreased with the increase of surfactant concentration of AESO-5 aqueous solution within a certain range, that within a certain range, the concentration rose to some degree, oil-water interfacial tension would not change, when the concentration of the aqueous solution of surfactant AESO-5 was 0.3 g/L,the oil-water interfacial tension of Gudao crude oil reached the lowest. The effects of concentration, polymer, salinity, temperature, sodium carbonate concentration, different kinds of short chain alcohols on oil-water interfacial tension were investigated. The experimental results showed that the Na+ concentration and Ca2+concentration in a certain range, dynamic interfacial tension between surfactant solution of AESO-5 and crude oil reached 10-3 mN/m magnitude. Interfacial tension with the aqueous surfactant solution was increased first and then decreased after increase of the concentration of AESO-5 aqueous solution, and increased with the increase of salinity, and decreased withthe increase of temperature of the system. The addition of short chain alcohol helped decreasing interfacial tension, with the increase of the concentration of alkali solution and the interfacial tension of the system value decreased first and then increased again; The increase of polymer concentration, increasd the viscosity, decreased first and then increased interfacial tension of the polymer/surfactant binary system and crude oil.The same molecular weight with different concentrations of polymer, the same concentration of polymer with different molecular weight, and temperature affected the surfactant aqueous solution of AESO-5 emulsion properties were investigated respectively. The results showed that with the same molecular weight, increasing polymer concentration, the emulsifying ability of AESO-5 enhanced; increasing the molecular weight of polymer is beneficial to enhance the emulsifying ability of AESO-5;increasing temperature of the system weaken the emulsifying ability of AESO-5.The results of the determination of temperature and salt resistance among the AESO-5SDBS and AES show that under the same conditions, The temperature resistance and salt resistance of the surfactant AESO-5 were better than those of SDBS and AES.
