Application Of The Dragon Totem In Fashion Design

As one of the most important traditional totems in China, the dragon totem is closely related to people’s spiritual life and material life. In ancient times, the dragon totem is the national symbol, representing the supreme rights and status; under the modern trend of globalization, the dragon totem gets more attention from Chinese and foreign fashion designers. Many outstanding works have used Dragon Totem elements,which at the same time injects new vitality into the totem. However, compared to the "Yangtze River Delta", "blue impression" and other elements, researches and studies on the application of dragon totem in modern clothing design are still imperfect and lacking. This thesis attempts to, by means of literature review, field trips and image contrast, study the application of dragon totem in fashion design from perspectives such as totem and dress, the origin and evaluation of dragon totem, the application of dragon totem in modern national dress and modern dress, seeing the combination of dragon totem and modern fashion design as the combination of vintage and fashion.
