In recent years, the price inversion phenomenon between domestic food raw materials and fuel ethanol production becomes more and more usual. The sustainable energy saving is the key way for the fuel ethanol business to survive. High energy consumption in fuel ethanol production mainly concentrated in the distillation process and mash process. In the literature most of the energy saving research focus on the distillation process, but the mash processing, especially the airflow drying processes in saving energy and reducing consumption are hardly reported. Efficient methods to reduce the energy consumption of the air flow drying are the key to the sustainable development of the fuel ethanol enterprise.To develop the feasible methods of reducing energy consumption, with TG fuel ethanol company as the example, the pneumatic drying process of mash processing was chosen as the main research objects to analyze the energy consumption of drying process. The material balance and heat balance of airflow drying process were calculated. Compared to the other liquor-marinated enterprises at home and abroad, it was found that some problems such as high energy consumption and heat loss existing in the production process. Then the dry gas production and enrichment process energy consumption were analyzed, and found that fuel, electricity, steam, water consumption accounted for 99% of vinasse feed production cost, which should be the major ways to solve the problem of energy consumption. The production process of drying and enrichment factors were also analyzed, and found that it would be the effective measure to reduce energy consumption per unit by reducing wet worse water content and increasing supernatant dry matter content. According to above analysis and the actual production situation, a set of energy-saving retrofit scheme and production innovation were established to evaluate the actual effect of the reform.The results demonstrated that the improvement of energy saving effects was very obvious. The important measures included adjusting the centrifuge separation rate, improving the wet grain drying, secondary steam recycling, using new technology of supernatant flocculation and hot air pipeline insulation. The cost of DDGS feed production was reduced by 28% through a series of energy saving reconstruction scheme, which made great contribution to reduce the total cost of fuel ethanol.
