Starch is a degradable polymer material, and has been widely used in package film production. Starch film has excellent mechanical property, and it is environment friendly. It is a package material with good potential. Essential oil(EI) has outstanding antibacterial property, when combined with starch, the antibacterial property of starch will be greatly improved. But EI is easily evaporated, its antibacterial effect is affected to a certain extent. By microcapsule technology, we can embedded the essential oil into the wall material, and control the release of EI.Micro-capsule technology and Saturated Aqueous Solution Method were applied to embedded the botanical EI as natural antibacterial in polymer material β-Cyclodextrin, and prepared the microcapsule with antibacterial property. Then the microcapsule was added into the starch film. The antibacterial property of starch film was improved and the release of antibacterial agent was controlled at the same time. The antibacterial time limitation was also extended. By orthogonal experiment, the best prepare process was defined. Chilled fresh meat was selected as research object to testify the actual application effect. Detailed research content as below:(1) The national and oversea research about Cyclodextrin microcapsule, antibacterial starch film and the application were investigated, the main routine were set up as apply the microcapsule technology to prepare antibacterial starch film;(2) Clove oil and star anise oil were applied as antibacterial material, and β-Cyclodextrin as the wall. By Saturated Aqueous Solution Method, the antibacterial microcapsule was prepared. The productivity and oil content were investigated, and the microcapsule with higher productivity and oil content were selected. Testify the property by SEM, FTIR, particle size analysis and TGA. The release and antibacterial property of microcapsule were also studied.(3) Starch were used as base material, the selected microcapsule was added as antibacterial agent, then gelatin, glycerol, CaCl2 and so on. The starch film with antibacterial microcapsule was prepared by casting. Study the effect of mass ratio, microcapsule content, CaCl2 content and temperature on the water solubility, mechanical and antibacterial property of film. Use SEM, FTIR and TGA to characterize the property of antibacterial starch film.(4) Chilled fresh meat was selected as research object, starch film, starch film with clove oil, starch film with microcapsule were used as package separately. The preservation effect of antibacterial starch film was judged from five aspects: Sensor index, Color difference, Weight loss rate, pH value, colony number.Results showed that, antibacterial starch film prepared by microcapsule technology have good property, and have good antibacterial effect and long antibacterial timeline when used to package the chilled fresh meet.
