The Research On Modular Furniture Design Based On SOHO

With the growing number and type of occupation of SOHO, impact on society has gradually expanded, so it attracted the attention of society and related enterprises. Office can not be separated from the furniture, however, there are many problems of inconvenience of SOHO furniture that need to be further studied and improved. Therefore, to explore the future trend of SOHO furniture, develop furniture design method that suitable for SOHO gens became the top priority.This paper took SOHO gens as the target population, modular furniture as the research object, used literature research method consulting a large number of domestic and foreign related literature and publishing books to analyze the SOHO modular furniture’s concepts and theories. Through the questionnaire survey and on-the-spot investigation, I made a comprehensive analysis about SOHO gens crowd’s characteristics, present situation of SOHO furniture and the application of modular furniture. Through summing up and analyzing data, I found that the current SOHO furniture design has a series problems. For example, it has poor functional integration, storage boxes placed space is insufficient, low flexibility and so on. SOHO gens that mostly in younger age groups’ demands of furniture were not met in many aspects. Although modular has a mature application in design and enterprise, people only pay attention to the appearance, do not attach the importance to the function, there is still much to be desired about the function. On this basis, With the characteristics of the target population as the breakthrough point, combined with the demand analysis, tried to achieve the diversification of the function of the furniture through the modular design method., improve the space usage, and give full play to the advantages of the modular design. Summed up the SOHO modular furniture design should follow the humanization, systematic, elastic principle. In order to optimize the design, I made a further discussion about the elements of SOHO modular furniture design, concluded that in the aspect of function, Must have both the material and the spiritual dual function, on the premise of meeting the basic use function, starting from the semantic information on conveyed into the "emotional" design, reflect the humanistic care; In terms of morphology, get rid of the traditional decent shape, to meet the psychological appeals of SOHO gens, adding organic form to create a friendly and affinity atmosphere in the office; in the color aspect, on the product itself characteristic and the use of the environment, by using the principle of the color psychology, handle the relationship of color; Material aspects, in order to reflect the required functional and emotional expression as the starting point, to carry on the reasonable selection. In order to make up for shortcomings in the design of modular furniture, considering the particularities of SOHO office and environmental, in modular furniture design, combined with intensive, LOFT and flexible concept. Finally, according to the conclusions of the above-mentioned study, made a specific case design practice to verify the related design principle.
