Research On Natural Gas Transmission Pipeline In-Line Inspection Technology

With the high speed development and social progress of our country, people pay more and more attention on the clean energy resource- natural gas. Developing natural gas industry is the best way to improve the environment and to promote sustainable development, the natural gas pipeline transmission industry has been developed rapidly. The natural gas is a flammable and explosive medium, the pipeline failure will cause serious damage to people and surrounding environment. The in-line inspection can find the defect of gas pipeline in normal operation period. The technology would provide a scientific basis for prevention of accidents and rational maintenance, thus,it become the key technology of pipeline management system.Jilin oilfield company has 500 km long gas transmission pipeline,the pipeline network covering two city, four country and one district of Jilin province, The safety for long gas pipeline is the lifeline of company. For natural gas industry’s survival and development, this paper has studied the domestic and overseas in-line inspection technology. As the new technology in china, the magnetic leakage detection technology has been selected, and we deeply studied the suitability of equipment, the selection of pipeline pig, pipeline pigging order and hydraulic calculation, the mountain of pipeline pig, the launcher and receive technology,and the emergency handling technology, and we made a scientific technical proposal, the in-line inspection project has been successfully carried out on “chang ling-song yuan” gas transmission pipeline. There are totally 194 metal loss port has been found, by digging check up,it fit the precision requirements very well. These inspection data help us made the safety evaluation of the pipeline, it also confirmed the cause of pipeline corrosion.By researching of natural gas transmission pipeline in-line inspection technology, we mastered the application technology of magnetic leakage technology, it lay a solid foundation to the entire pipeline network integrity management that based on in-line inspection.
