Part of the gas pipeline equipment in our country has gradually entered the aging stage, so the preventive maintenance of the gas pipeline equipment becomes more and more important. To prevent pipeline accidents effectively, on the one hand, it requests the enterprise to improve the maintainability and reliability of the equipment, on the other hand, the enterprise will reduce the maintenance cost as far as possible and establish a reasonable maintenance strategy. In this paper, combined with reliability centered maintenance and sequential preventive maintenance, multi-objective optimization model of reliability and maintenance cost is established. Through multi-objective particle swarm optimization algorithm, to establish cost-effective gas pipeline maintenance strategy. The main research contents are as follows:(1) Analyze the status of the gas pipeline equipment maintenance. On the basis of qualitative analysis of gas pipeline equipment maintenance status, according to the characteristics of gas pipeline equipment, analyze the failure rate and failure distribution, and select fault distribution function which is in accordance with the actual situation. At the same time, aiming at the present stage of gas pipelines and equipment of periodic maintenance mode, combined with the reliability centered maintenance and sequential preventive maintenance, choose a more economical, more in line with the actual situation of the elastic cycle maintenance mode.(2) Multi-objective optimization model of reliability and maintenance cost based on Particle Swarm Optimization. Based on the reliability centered maintenance and sequential preventive maintenance, put forward the assumptions of model, analyze the composition of maintenance cost elements and maintenance cycle elements, reliability and maintenance cost as optimization objectives, multi-objective optimization model of reliability and maintenance cost is established, in order to achieve the maximum reliability and minimum maintenance cost.(3) The algorithm realization of the model. Using the multi-objective particle swarm optimization algorithm to design solution procedure of gas pipeline periodic maintenance, in view of the specific case, using MATLAB programming tools to achieve the multi-objective optimization model, getting the optimal preventive maintenance cycle and maintenance times, providing theoretical basis for the preventive maintenance strategy of gas pipeline.
