The Drag Reducing Additive(DRA) was a kind of chemical additive which used in pipeline chemistry that could reducing Pipe friction and increasing the amount of pipeline transmission. The main component of the DRA was Poly-α-olefin Since the structure of the long-chain,DRA was easily degraded.because of this phenomenon, the huge economic was lossed during industrial applications.How to increase the shear resistance of DRA to reduce economic inputs, were extremely important practical significance for today’s DRA research.We can introduce composite technology to increase poly-α-olefin’s strength.The details were as follows:the poly-α-olefin was as matrix,using the modified inorganic particles and interface compatibility agent technology,inorganic Nano-composite Polymer DRA was made by direct miscible Technology.Then tested,got the flow increase rate(FIR) and the drag reducing rate(DRR) by ring road test systems(RRTS),anti-shear property was also tested by RRTS.Through extensive testing,nano-SiO2 and nano-montmorillonite was identified as inorganic fillers to increase the intensity.A method of surface treatment of inorganic particles with the experimental procedure was Preliminarily determined.A series of optimization of experimental conditions was also determined by RRTS testing.EP-DRA was remaining 90% after first shearing, and completely disappeared after second time. Composite-DRA was remaining 50% after first shearing, remaining 85% after second time, Anti-shearing property was better.Made mohe to Dalian line for example to make economic accounting,the composite-DRA is only 5%- 10%higher than the cost of EP-DRA,at the same time the costs could be 35.64%reduced, and traffic could be 3.35% increased. The annual cost was saved of 3 to 500 million yuan, while total traffic was increased by 3% to 8% if composite DRA used in whole of China.With these experiments we found that,the anti-shear property had been improved by compositing nano-fillers.Performance can be improved by composite-DRA technology.We also need to work in optimization of complex conditions and experimental methods.
