In this paper the 316 stainless steel was treated by two roll mill and laser processing equipment, we adopt microscopy, X-ray diffraction, microhardness and electrochemical methods to explore the influence of laser surface treatment on microstructures and properties of solid solution and cold-rolled state 316 stainless steel. The results of the study are as follows.The microhardness of 316 stainless steel increases with the rolling deformation increases. The organization form strain induced martensite when the rolling deformation reaches 50% and the martensite content increases with the increasing of the deformation. Cold rolling leads to the decrease of pitting corrosion potential and the increase of intergranular corrosion sensitivity. The ability to repair passive film get enhanced.The grains of solid solution 316 stainless steel slip after laser surface treatment, the fault probability, dislocation density, micro strain and microhardness increase with the increase of temperature and frequency of laser treatment. The probability of twin and crystallite size decreases after laser treatment and Many small angle grain boundaries form within grains. Laser treatment leads to the decrease of pitting corrosion potential and the increase of intergranular corrosion sensitivity. The ability to repair passive film get enhanced.The martensite in the 316 stainless steel(deformation of 80%) change to the austenite after laser treatment, the fault probability,dislocation density, micro strain, crystallite size and microhardness decreases with the increase of temperature and frequency of laser treatment. Laser treatment leads to the increase of pitting corrosion potential, the decrease of intergranular corrosion sensitivity and the ability to repair passive film.
