Synthesis Of Beta Zeolite Membranes And Its Application In Water Treatment

Water is a precious resources for human life. And water shortage was a major problem for us. Seawater desalination was effective method to solve the problem of water resources. It is necessary to select a economic way for sea water desalination. Membrane technology as a new technology has been used in seawater desalination, and show a great advantages. In order to get a longer membranes life expectancy, using inorganic membrane with elegantly structural properties replaces the traditional organic membranes which has higher cost and complex operation.This paper primarily explores the synthesis of beta zeolite membranes and its application in water treatment. And the main research contents is beta zeolite membrane synthesis and the influence factors of water treatment.1. Beta zeolite was synthesized at different time and select well-formed crystals with uniform size as a seed to synthesis of zeolite membranes. We found the best crystal with a uniform diameter was crystallization for three days at 413 K. And examines the influence of the β zeolite crystal morphology and template removal effect by different approachs of template removal. The method of Calcination under 873 K will affect the crystal shape of beta zeolite. It caused structure collapse of zeolite and the disappearance of surface acidity. And the catalytic hydrocracking is a smooth and efficient method for remove organic template.2. Beta zeolite membranes are fabricated on the carriers which have been coated smaller seeds by spreading-wetting method. And explore the influence of beta zeolite membrane by different time, different number of crystallization and different solution characterization by XRD, SEM, contact angle. Activation the beta zeolite membrane use of catalytic hydrocracking, and characterization by single-component permeation experiment.3. Designed and assembled the vacuum filtration unit which parameter define by the specification α-Al₂O₃ ceramic tube we bought. Then we only use blank ceramic tubes to penetration city water, and exploration the impact of pH and velocity of flow.
