| Paper Sizing is one of the most important technology in papermaking, which can effectively improve the water-resisting property of paper and cardboard. Compared with internal sizing, surface sizing have many advantages, such as high retention rate, operate easy, no water pollution and fast sizing speed, which are widely used in papermaking industry. The paper-based UV-curable waterborne sizing agent with high crosslinking degree, better water resistance and fast drying rate was prepares according to molecular structure design, which is aimed at using the flexible polyethylene glycol（PEG） of different molecular weights and the hydroxyl ethyl acrylate（HEA） of light-sensitive molecule in order to modify rosin.In this study, HEA-MPA-PEG was prepared by rosin, maleic anhydride, PEG, HEA as raw materials. Then, the prepolymer was neutralized by using trimethylamine（TEA） and the rosin-based waterborne polyether acrylate was obtained. The chemical structures and properties of products were confirmed in detail by GC-MS, UV spectra, FTIR, 1H-NMR 和13C-NMR, TG and Malvern particle size analyzer; Surface morphology of the raw paper and the sizing paper were observed by SEM; water absorption of the raw paper and the sizing paper were researched by Cobb60 s and contact angle instrument; physical properties of the raw paper and the sizing paper were researched by tensile strength instrument and ring crush strength instrument. Results demonstrated that when the rosin and maleic anhydride in the molar ratio of1:1.2, p-toluenesulfonic acid monohydrate（2 wt%） as the catalyst, the reaction time of 6 hours were reached, the yield of maleopimaric acid（MPA） anhydride is highest and is up to 76%. When the reaction was 4 hours and the reaction temperature was 90 ℃,the acid value of HEA-MPA-PEG is lowest and is up to 80.1mg/g. When the neutralization is 110%, the waterborne polyether acrylate resin has good storage ability. When the curable time was 15 seconds, the molecular weight of PEG was 200 and the dosage of photoinitiator Irgacure2959 was 4%, the water resistance of sizing paper is best and the value of Cobb60 is up to 18.9g.m-2。... |
