The diesel is a thermal power equipment burning oil, which is widely used in the mine with gas and coal dust explosion and harsh environmental conditions. So it is necessary to use protection monitor to improve security and reliability. In this paper, for the demand, we developed an automatic visualization protection monitor for the diesel used in the mine, with the characteristics of mornitoring many parameters, high precision, high reliability, ease of use and so on.This paper firstly analyzes the overview of the development technology for the diesel monitor both at home and abroad, along with the problems and significance of this research, and makes the main research task of the topic clear. Then this paper analyzes the overall structure of the diesel monitor system, and gives a detailed description of the working principle and the selection of the design solutions.This design of diesel monitor system is divided into measuring board, display board, methane sensor, and carbon monoxide sensor these four parts, and the paper gives a detailed description of the hardware circuit design of each part. Measuring board uses STM32 microcontroller as its core controller, and is responsible for data acquisition, data storage, condition monitoring and alarm. Conditions need to be monitored are water temperature, engine surface temperature, exhaust temperature, oil temperature, brake oil pressure, engine oil pressure, oil tank level, water tank level, engine speed, vehicle speed, the concentration of methane, and the concentration of carbon monoxide. Display board is mainly used for displaying working condition data on the LCD monitor. Display board consists of three parts: the control part using STM32 microcontroller, for controlling the LCD display content and receiving working condition data from measuring board and adjusting the parameters of the working condition by infrared; the LCD driver part using CPLD, for controlling the LCD with the SRAM as the display buffer; the video decoding part using MST703, for decoding video signal into a digital RGB signal for displaying on the LCD. Methane sensor using STM32 microcontroller as core controller, detects the concentration of methane gas through MJC4/3.0L catalytic combustion gas sensor, and sends the real time result to the measuring board. Carbon monoxide sensor is also based on STM32 microcontroller, detects carbon monoxide gas concentrations through the 4cm gas sensor, and also send the real time result to the measuring board.Then paper completes the software design of the mine diesel protection monitor system. Including the software process of the acquisition and processing of all kinds of working conditions, data storage, the design of communication between subsystems, alarm handling, controlling display of LCD, video decoding, acquisition and processing of methane concentration and carbon monoxide and so on.Finally, based on the design of software and hardware, the protection monitor system has been fully tested, such as detection of working condition, communications, LCD display. Detailed testing has been implemented to ensure that the design meets the system requirements.
