With the progress of science and technology and the improvement of human life, people need clothe of higher quantity. We need to cut cloth into piece and then sew it up in traditional clothes manufacturing. It is too complicated. So “Whole Garment†come into being. We can use circular knitting machine to make seamless clothes, but it is not real clothes without sewing. Some parts of the clothes also need sewing. Flat knitting machine can produce clothes without any sewing. The cloth can be wearing as soon an it goes down from flat knitting machines. It is real sewingless.We can put yarn directly to clothes by “Whole Garment†knitting technology. The clothes can be put on as soon as it get down from the machine. So we can skip the process of weaving, cutting, and sewing. The waste of labor and raw material is avoided. The clothes produced by “Whole Garment†technology is much comfortable because there is no stitch on the clothes. So it has a vast market foreground.Now Whole Garment technology on flat knitting machines is quite excellent in Germany or Japan. STOll and Shima Seiki flat knitting machines can produce perfect “Whole Garment†garment. There is no qualified Whole Garment flat knitting machines in China. The machine builders are trying to manufacture Whole Garment flat knitting machines by themselves. But there are some trouble for them. They need to study on how to control the yarn feeding tension and pulling tension.So the research project try to test and analysis the yarn feeding tension and pulling tension while the double bed flat knitting machines is knitting whole garment clothes in order to find the way the yarn feeding tension and pulling tension changes in the process. The project study on how the “Whole Garment†garment is knitted, how the flat knitting machine works, and put some equipment in the machine to test the tension. In “Whole Garment†knitting process the yarn feeding tension is higher when the speed of the machine head is higher. The pulling down tension increase linearly at the first and then begin to fluctuate as time goes. And the pulling down tension of the joining shoulder part is much higher than other parts when wedge-shaped knitting and rest knitting happen. The research project also come up with some ideas to solve the tension controlling problem from knitting technology and mechanical technology. |
