Four-way valve is a key component of valve products, we used to use some traditional method to produce this production by casting, welding, forging, etc. But it has many shortcomings like metal loss, low efficiency, low product quality, and other serious problems. To solve problems above, we use hydraulic compound bulging method with seamless steel tube to produce four-way valve body in this paper. Tube bulging is an important research direction of the tube forming process, The increasing social demands for energy conservation, environmental protection, which to plastic processing products put forward some new requirements: in the premise of meeting the performance of products, reduce the weight of components, improve the strength and toughness of products, use of low energy consumption and get high efficiency. In recent years, tube bulging technology has a considerable development and wide application in automotive, aerospace, petrochemical and other fields. However, due to the impact of the complex production process factors, theoretical research is not deep enough, some of the key technical issues still need to continue the process of in-depth study.Firstly, this paper introduces the development history, domestic and foreign research status and some current research hotspots of tube bulging process. Combined with the finite element analysis method, the mechanism and the failure mode of the four-way valve body process by using the hydraulic compound bulging are described in detail. Establish the four-way valve internal high pressure forming geometric model and finite element model, Through the simulation of metal flow in four-way valve body forming process, the relationship between the process parameters and the forming law of the compound bulging process is deeply studied,and reveal the distribution of stress and strain, variation of wall thickness, defect prediction and its reasons, it will provide a reliable theoretical basis for the selection of bulging parameters and control process of the four-way valve body.
