In this paper, taking structure and gas of Xutuan mine in Huaibei mining area as the research object, systematically analyzed the geological structure data of mine. On the basis of deep analysis of the characteristics of mine structure, the law of the mine structure is revealed. The structural complexity of the 32 main mining coal seam was quantitatively evaluated. O n the basis of further study of 32 coal seam gas data, the 32 coal seam gas occurrence were analysis and forecast and the dominant factors of gas occurrence characteristics are discussed, and in combination with the results of the complex degree evaluation of the mine structure, the risk of coal and gas outburst in the 32 coal seam is predicted. The main research results are as follows:The main body of the mine is a relatively broad and gentle uniclinal structure which has near SN trend and tilt east and develops two groups of secondary fold which axial is NWW and near EW. EW fold is the product of the earliest tectonic movements after the formation of the mine coal seam, and formed in Indo-C hinese periods. NWW fold is the early Yanshanian periods pre product.In the direction of the fault distribution of the mine, the N E direction and the NNE are the most developed, and the NWW direction is the second one. The dip angle of the fault is relatively steep, mainly 61~70°. The NE trending fault is a product of the early period of Yanshan, and the NWW trending fault formation era belongs to the early stage of Yanshan.The structural complexity of the 32 coal seam is evaluated quantitatively by using the fractal dimension value and the structural curvature method. The results show that the complex structural area concentrated in the vicinity of Xutuan fault and F5 fault, but regional tectonic in north of the mining area and the south of 74 exploration line area is simple.According to the gas data of mine geological prospecting and production measurement to analyzed the mine gas occurrence situation, and applied the feasibility method to predict the gas pressure, gas content and gas emission in the 32 coal seam. The results show that the 32 coal seam belongs to high gas pressure, low gas content of coal seam. For example, at the elevation of-636.5m, the absolute pressure of the gas reach to 1.62 MPa, but the gas content reach to 8.00m3/t.Through the analysis of mine gas geological law, the main influencing factors of mine gas occurrence are the structure of the mine, the depth of the coal seam, the development of the tectonically deformed coal and the thickness of paleogene red beds. The gas content in coal seam increases with the increase of the depth of the buried depth and the contour line of the coal seam floor has a good cons istency with the gas content contour, and the different degrees of fluctuations in different tectonic development zones. High gas content is in the area between the Xutuan fault and 74 exploration line, other area is low,and this feature is consistent with the complex quantitative evaluation of structure.The individual indexes related to coal and gas outburst which appear in Interim Measures for Coal Mine Gas Level Identification are analyzed. The results show that the 32 coal seam in the elevation of-636.5m has the danger of coal and gas outburst.The fractal dimension value, the absolute value of the curvature, gas content, gas pressure and thickness of tectonically deformed coal are analyzed, and combining actual situation of mine exploitation to predict the danger region of coal and gas outburst in 32 coal seam.
