For existing hoist backup protection system exists to monitor the relative stroke, low reliability Matsunawa protection, monitoring parameters and measurement data are not centralized self-contained and so on, to study and propose solutions to improve the detection, and then designed to achieve an important parameter set monitor and enhance the position of the vessel stroke achieve absolute measurements, provide multiple Matsunawa protection, system data to other compatible control systems in new hoist backup protection system.The new back- up protection system through the four-way switch, four-way pulse, two-way vessel stroke, multiple current sensors for real-time monitoring, to achieve electrical, speed, Matsunawa, over roll, brake and many protection functions, and can the alarm can be set according to value, alarm indication or cut off safety circuit.Backup protection system design includes hardware design and software development in two parts. Freescale MC9S08AW32 hardware circuit main control chip, 8 differential inputs SPI interface 18 AD7609, X5045 memory chips, opto- isolated inputs and outputs,4* 4 matrix keyboard, LCD screen, two independent RS485 communication interface, alarm indication lamps and other components. Software features include acquisition and processing monitoring parameters, set operating parameters, data display and all kinds of fault alarm and safety circuit control. O utput monitoring data using standard MO DBUS protocol is complete, convenient external control system or computer monitoring system reads the measurement data back-up protection system.In this paper, the new circuit design and software development to enhance the backup protection system is described in detail, and the absolute position of the stroke monitoring program carried out a feasibility simulations, experimental results show that: the design hoist backup protection system developed by the absolute position of the trip monitoring program is feasible, the overall measurement error is less than 0.01%, at the start and stop the measurement precision segment vessel trip up 0.05 m, the program applies to most of the existing mine hoist system.
