Vehicle’s continuous movement track reflects its running road alignment.Theperformance of linear parameters directly affects vehicle traffic safety and road access rate.This paper develops the road reconstruction algorithm about linear parameters and raises itscalibration standards. On the basis of them, detecting vehicle driving stability. There are greatimportant significance to improve road traffic safety.This paper analyses the measurement technique and its characteristics of road alignmentsystematically and proposes the detection method on the basis of Car-GPS. UsingSPEED-BOX records vehicle location coordinates, attitude angle data and so on. Accordingto the characteristics of those data,this paper establishs the fuzzy identification method toidentify linear and creates reconstruction technique about the parameters of road alignment.Analysing its kinetic characteristic when the car is driving on the pavement and itsbalance equation. The paper creates the prediction model about Vehicle Rollover, VehicleSideslip and driving stability of downhill turning. And this paper researches the value ofrollover threshold and lateral force coefficient further. It provides a basis for predicting thestability of the car.Based on VC++6.0, developing the vehicle stability detection system. As an engineeringexample of the Xi’an Guan Zhong Ring Winding Mountain Road, detecting the vehiclerunning track through SPEED-BOX. The system processes the GPS data throughreconstructed module of linear parameters and obtains the linear parameters of the testingroad, including stake mark and its coordinate, flat curve radius, longitudinal slope, length ofthe curve and so on. Comparing the fitting results with Road Design Specifications., it showsthat the reconstruction algorithm is accurate and feasibility. The detection system predicts thedriving stability of the testing road K7+463to K15+495and obtains the critical speed whenthe car will roll, sideslip or its power steering will be failure. So, it can predict the limit speedof every section on the basis of ensuring car driving safety. The research provides atheoretical basis for setting the speed limit and improving the condition of the road and ensuretraffic safety.
