Energy and environment are currently the major focus of human existence andsocial development.With rapid development, the industrial demand for energy isincreasing, and industrial furnacesas is a major industrial energy equipment, energyconsumption, serious impact on the environment.Gas industrial furnaces have a verygreat role in using clean energy, improving energy structure, environmental protectionand improving fuel efficiency. Industrial gas furnace with swirl burner can improve thestrength and stability of flame, good temperature distribution, batter material heatingeffect, while pollutants in flue gas is effectively controlled.This article, first, elaborates the basic swirl combustion theory and gas industrialfurnaces thermal parameters tested, at the same time it analysises prospects of gasfurnace with swirl burner. Secondly, we detail laboratory equipment, all burners and testsystem, and propose some key points,such as test system measuring steps, smoketesting delayed effects and exception handling etc. Finally, the evaluation of industrialfurnace gas is introduced, including the weighted average temperature, the maximumtemperature difference within the furnace, deviation rate, heating rate, flue gastemperature and flue gas composition. Through contrasting burners of1#,2#,3#plateflame and3#cup flame,we research swirl combustion, and excess air coefficient on theeffect of swirl combustion.Through experimental test, the results show the following:1)Industrial gas furnacewith swirl burner flame has the smaller maximum temperature difference in the furnace,and better temperature uniformity.The3#cup flame temperature difference in furnace isthe least,3#plate having same difference,while1#burner is about6times bigger than3#cup flame,1#for4times.The biggest average temperature deviation rate is1#directflame, about0.173,and it is followed by2#flat flame0.098, while3#plate flame0.024and cup flame0.021, other temperature measuring point is not exceeding0.02.2)Industrial gas furnace with swirl combustion can reduce flue gas CO, NOx pollutantsemissions, so it has obvious advantage of reducing pollutant emissions.3)With theincrease of excess air coefficient α, it lowers the average temperature in the furnace,slows down the heating rate,and reduces NOx generation, but the amount of CO generated has an increasing trend.Through gas industry furnace swirl combustionexperimental research, it was observed that using swirl combustion has obviousadvantages. Based on the experimental results,it is of great significance for furtherstudy to suggest improvements for industrial gas furnace with swirl burner flame.
