Wind power, which has the most mature technology, as a kind of clean energy power generation, develops very quickly in recent years, and the scale of wind farm becomes more and more larger. However, although wind power can make full use of clean energy, its output is fluctuant and random. These feature bring negative impact to the power system. The current most popular control mode of wind power is constant power factor, which leads to an insufficient reactive power and a bad effect on voltage stability of the system. This paper mainly concentrate on research of static voltage stability of the system when connectted with large scale wind farm, the main work is as follows:(1) Influence to voltage stability is analysised when different node is connectted with large-scale wind farm through simulating. Typical voltage stability simulation model is integrated in Power System Analysis Software Package(PSASP) to verify the effectiveness of the integrated approach. Influence to voltage stability index has been analysised when large-scale wind farm access system from nearly generator nodes, intermediate nodes or close to the load side. Linear and differentiation on output of wind power with different voltage stability index is analysised and compared. The study found that The minimum singular value index has a higher sensitivity and good linear degree as the change of wind power output.(2) State of system will change all the time when large-scale wind farm is connected due to its output volatility, so, it needs to rapidly assess system voltage stability. Based on simulation and theoretical analysis of the existing voltage stability index, combining with the characteristics of wind power and index of voltage stability, a method to quickly calculate index is proposed.(3) Static security of an actual power grid has been analyzed and then calculation of voltage stability of the system on the state of N-1, N-2. Reactive compensation is set according to the results to improve static security of the system.
