It will produce a strong aerodynamic act leading to drastic changes in the electrical contact pressure between the pantograph and catenary when a high speed trains through a railway tunnel, which seriously affects the current collection stability. Based on the fine modeling of high-speed pantograph, the aerodynamic load on the pantograph of a high-speed train passing through a tunnel is caculated, the pantograph aerodynamic performance produce by flow field induced by high-speed train entering tunnel is anasysed, using the moving model method. The main results involve the following aspects:(1) Study on the air flow mechanism of train pantograph complex components. A moving model and aerodynamic numerical simulation method for the aerodynamic load on the pantograph when a high speed train passing through a tunnel is established. The pantograph aerodynamic force generation mechanism when a train running in and out the tunnel is obtained by the analysis of the pantograph dynamic load on the complex components of the pantograph.(2) The comprehensive study on main train parameters on the high speed pantograph aerodynamic performance. The influence of major parameters such as train speed, train shape, train length and the installation position of pantograph in the train roof in the pantograph aerodynamic performance, the pantograph aerodynamic loads under different opening operation are obtained. Starting from the pantograph aerodynamic force and contact pressure angle, comparison analysis of different types of the pantograph dome is conducted.(3) The comprehensive study on main tunnel parameters on the high speed pantograph aerodynamic performance. The influence of major parameters such as tunnel blockage ratio, tunnel length, tunnel buffer structure in the pantograph aerodynamic load is obtained by the analysis of the aerodynamic performance in the train/tunnel coupled environment.(4) Study on the pantograph aerodynamic performance and the main parameters when a pair of trains meeting in a tunnel. Based on the theory of transient air pressure wave of intersection train in the tunnel, the changes mechanism analysis of the pantograph aerodynamic force is conducted. Analysis and comparison of the effect of major parameters such as the train intersection speed, the tunnel blockage ratio, the intersection location on the law of pantograph aerodynamic performance is also conducted.The result of this paper can act as a effective evaluation for a high speed running through the tunnel safty, provide a basis and guidance for the development of electric parameter design of arch, catenary and tunnel.
