With3D simulation technology and the rapid development of computertechnology, the application of3D technology in all walks of life is becoming moreand more widely. But in the power system,3D technology currently used only for thedesign of the transformer substation and power plant, the3D display of powerfacilities, production management personnel of the simulation training, etc. How toapply3D technology to the production operation management of substation, become3D technology application in power system, an important research direction.This article research goal is to combine virtual3D technology and visualizationtechnology applied to the production of substation operation management anddevelopment of the substation running management system for virtual3Dvisualization, the substation PMIS, SCADA, such as real-time video monitoringsystem of information integration and virtual3D visualization technology, and thesubstation information displayed in the form of integration platform, it can effectivelyimprove the monitoring and management of substation, will also be able to make upfor the display2D discrete substation defect information.The virtual3D substation as the carrier, the system can satisfy the users of thedata analysis, comparison, query and other functions, and can be put in the form of avisual data is presented to the user, so that it can be for emergency handling, faultanalysis, leadership decision, operation plan, simulation training and so on dailyoperation management to provide visual data display and interaction, substationintegrated visualization of multidimensional information display.
