A lot of water are polluted in various degrees with the rapid development of industry. The pollution of ammonia nitrogen and manganese pollution is increasingly obvious among them, and conventional water treatment technique can not remove them cost-effectively. In recent years, many researchers start apply natural zeolite in the removal of ammonia nitrogen and heavy metal ions. Because of the limited adsorption capacity of natural zeolite, we used different kinds of modification reagent to modify natural zeolite in the environment of ultrasonic and vibration. We researched the factor influencing modified zeolite adsorbing ammonia nitrogen and manganese including initial concentration, the dosage of modified zeolite, the length of adsorption, temperature, pH and oscillation condition. In the end we explored the dynamics characters and thermodynamic characteristics of modified zeolite adsorbing ammonia nitrogen. It is showed in the experiment that:1) The best modifying condition is:using 0.8 mol/L NaCl modifying natural zeolite for 40 minutes with ultrasonic of 560W.2) The adsorption process followed the pseudo-second order model, and Langmuir model could describe ultrasonic modified zeolite’s adsorption capacity to ammonia nitrogen better than Freundlich model.3) The optimum dosage of modified zeolite adsorbing ammonia nitrogen and manganese is 6g/L and 3g/L. Modified zeolite adsorbing ammonia nitrogen and manganese presents the characteristic of "rapid absorption and slow balance",.and the optimum length of modified zeolite adsorbing ammonia nitrogen and manganese is 2 hours.4) The optimum temperature of modified zeolite adsorbing ammonia nitrogen and manganese is 20℃ and 50℃. The optimum pH of modified zeolite adsorbing ammonia nitrogen and manganese is 6 and 7.5) With the auxiliary function of ultrasonic in the process of adsorption the adsorption rate is very fast with removal rate 73% and 90% in 5min and 30min. and the adsorbing capacity of modified zeolite adsorbing ammonia nitrogen and manganese increase a bit.
