With the rapid development of intelligent control, fuzzy PID control technology is becoming more and more important, and it will be the key of research on intelligent control in the future. However, the controllers based on PID control theory are the basic controllers in the process control systems, especially in the systems with many control quantities, such as the chemical industry and metallurgy. With simple design and fixed parameters, the PID controllers become unable to meet the requirements of complex systems. The fuzzy PID control technologies gain rapidly development and widely application. With more new fuzzy control technologies are developed, some theory problems have hindered the extensions of fuzzy control while the increasing depth of research and application. For example, the problems of determining the initial domains, and the less adaptability of abrupt changed objects. In summary, the optimizations and improvements of fuzzy PID control are meaningful and valuable.This thesis firstly reviews the fuzzy PID control algorithm. Based on the previous researches, the thesis provides an improved PID parameters tuning formula and a variable universe fuzzy PID control algorithm based on parameters self-tuning technology. Secondly, the paper uses this algorithm to control a mathematical model of living water supply system of Yulin energy and chemical methanol plant, and compares the results of simulation with other control algorithms. Finally, paper designs a program of monitoring using MCGS configuration software and a ladder program using Siemens Step7 software for the variable frequency constant pressure water supply system.
