Material level meter has a vital role in the thermal power plant operation.Material level meter feedback information is accurate system to run smoothly. At present, a tuning fork material level meter used at home and abroad, ultrasonic, rf admittance, radar, capacitance, etc. They are all plug-in. Because measuring the environment is very complex, they are prone to failure. Passive nuclear material level meter is good to overcome their shortcomings. Both at home and abroad research on it is limited. Several preliminary market existing products and not mature enough, but not perfect. They can’t achieve real-time measurement and control of material’s level.They are on the fountainhead material changes often need to correct the standard.Based on the current development status quo and existing problems of now. In this paper, the principle of passive nuclear material level meter has carried on the deep discussion and research. This article is based on the monte carlo simulation method, using MCNP5, on the measurement environment for a lot of digital simulation and the experimental process. So that we can overcome the experimental conditions and cost limit. In this paper, and in the process of simulation using the unit layer superposition principle and interchangeable principle source. This can greatly reduce the computing time. Through the analysis of simulation results under different conditions, the level of the coal ash radioactive count rate and material change curve.In order to solve the fountainhead is different counting rate of calibration scale changes. In order to solve the problems of the need to calibration, this paper deals with the curve of deformation. On this basis, this paper obtained the coal ash radioactive count rate the rate of change of relations with the probe position and the rate of change of coal ash radioactive count rate curve associated with the material of material level. This paper puts forward the fountainhead activity changes data correction scheme. This paper presented the source of nuclear material level meter to realize real-time measurement and control and of automatic calibration of the standard design. This article showed the source of nuclear material level meter principle, the feasibility and reliability. This paper developed for the optimization design and provides a valuable parameter and scheme.
