Terahertz radiation refers to the electromagnetic waves which frequency is between the microwave and infrared. THz is usually defined as the spectral region between 30 THz to 0.1THz, and it is overlapped with the far infrared spectrum. Terahertz spectral of materials gathered many characteristics of the materials. Different materials have significant difference Characteristics of the spectrum in terahertz band, so THz technology has broad application prospects in the field of nondestructive testing, medical test and biochemistry molecular structure analysis.Terahertz spectroscopy is an important branch of terahertz technology. Terahertz time-domain spectroscopy is mainly used in terahertz spectroscopy technology. The detection range of time-domain spectroscopy technology is narrow, and the highest frequency is 3THz. In this paper, we use the far infrared Fourier transform spectrometer produced by Sciencetech company to carry out the experiment, and extend the spectrum range of the analysis to 3THz to 33 THz. Terahertz Fourier transform spectroscopy(THz-FTS) has the advantages of high sensitivity, high frequency accuracy, wide bandwidth and good repeatability.This article main content is as follows:1, This paper discribes terahertz Fourier transform spectrometer experiment system, illustrates the working principle, the every components of the THz-FTS system. And the paper introduces the optical testing and the experimental operation methods of the experiment system.2, This paper introduceds the methods that extract the optical constants of materials from the Fourier transform spectroscopy. There has done a lot of research in data processing in this paper.3, In this paper, 20 kinds of amino acids were analyzed by using terahertz Fourier transform spectrometer, and 8 kinds of them were calculated by the Gaussian. The results show that the spectra of the theoretical calculation and experimental spectra agree well. Therefore, THz Fourier transform spectroscopy can be used as an effective approach to study the terahertz spectrum.
