With the development of society, people demand more and more high power quality, but also began to pay more attention to the impact of reactive power to the grid. Power grid reactive power balance has become one of the important symbols to measure power quality, in the case of reactive power to compensate for the implementation of real-time fast reactive power regulation has a very important significance. Static Var Compensator(Static Var Compensator-SVC) is widely used on the current market, a reactive power compensation method, this paper uses TSC(Thyristor Switched Capacitor) SVC, which is characterized by low cost and its structure is relatively simple; however, static synchronous compensator (Static Synchronous Compensator-STATCOM) this new dynamic reactive power compensation the equipment, fast response speed, high control accuracy, the advantages of better filtering performance and can effectively prevent the voltage fluctuation, if the STATCOM and SVC hybrid reactive power compensation, it can achieve continuous compensation and dynamic adjustment, also can reduce the reactive power compensation system cost, so it has good practical value.This paper firstly introduces the basic structure of TSC and STATCOM, and analyzes the operation characteristics and working principle of the two. The device can effectively and quickly adjust reactive power. Then determine the control strategy of the system, that is, the TSC as the main control target of reactive power, TSC compensation for most of the reactive power, and the rest of the reactive power by the STATCOM automatic compensation. Therefore only need to control the TSC, by nine zone diagram of the advantages and disadvantages of using fuzzy control strategy to control the TSC, and use the fuzzy logic toolbox of TSC fuzzy control simulation, and the results show the rationality of the method.In terms of hardware system, the controller of the system were compared with the design, including TMS320F2812 DSP as the control circuit of the controller chip of the reactive power compensation system and each functional module of the hardware design. In the aspect of system software, the main program, A/D conversion program and switching program was designed.Finally, by building the experimental platform, on the control system of each function module and the whole effect were tested. Test results show that the design of TSC and STATCOM hybrid without power compensation system in general, reasonable structure, hardware and software function is perfect, control accuracy is relatively high, fast response and operation is very stable, according with the design requirements.
