Objective The purpose of this study is to analyse the characters of collateralcirculation in adult-onset Moyamoya disease, to research the correlation betweenonset clinical manifestation and the charaters of collateral circulation. The result canprovide reference to the further function study, clinical diagnosis and therapy.Subjects and methods This study collected information of86patients withadult-onset Moyamoya disease, who had been diagnosed by angiography. Theseinformation included the clinical manifestation and the neuroimaging information. Then we analysed the collateral circulation of cerebral arteries in angiography, and thecorrelation between the collateral characters and the clinical features.Result Patients of adult-onset Moyamoya disease usually manifested intracranialheamorrhage(62.8%). ventriculus cerebri, lobes, basal ganglia were the most likelyparts of heamorrhage. Heamorrhagic Moyamoya patients had higher richness of thenetwork-like abnormal vascular than ischemic patients. Dilatation of deep braincompensatory collateral arteries(including anterior choroidal arteries, posteriorchoroidal arteries, posterior pericallosal arteries) was more likely showed inheamorrhagic Moyamoya patients. These results implied that a portion of intracranialheamorrhage in adult-onset Moyamoya disease caused by rupture of the dilatated deepbrain compensatory collateral arteries.
