Objective:To analyze the clinical manifestations, treatment and follow-up visitsof pulmonary cryptococcosis in patients under different immune states. Methods: Retrospective analysis was performed on the clinical data in patientswith physician-diagnosed pulmonary cryptococcosis in my hospital from Jan2004toDec2010.Results:26patients had a confirmed diagnosis,of whom9wereimmunocompromised and17were immunocompetent. There were3patients whoremained asymptomatic in immunocompromised group, while there were11patientsin immunocompetent group. There were6patients(66.7%) involving bilateralpulmonary in immunocompromised group, while only5patients (29.4%) inimmunocompetent group. There were18patients being followed up in the bothgroup.None of them had more advanced cryptococcal infections disseminating allthrough the body. Conclusion: The pathogenesis of pulmonary cryptococcosis proved to beinsidious due to its nonspecifle clinical and radiographic characteristics, the diagnosisdepends on pathogenic and pathologic examinations.More reasonable treatments ofpulmonary cryptococcosis should be adopted according to patients immunestates, and better prognosis seems to be in favor of immunocompetent subjects.
