Study On Toxicological Safety Evaluation And Anti-Fatigue Effect And Immune Functions Of Sam Tung God Of Wine

Sam Tung god of wine is a king of health food whose main material are Coypu liver, medlar, radix polygoni multiflori preparata, honey, chinese cassia tree, licorice root, fructus corni, arillus longan. ginseng, oyster, cloves and Coypu penis. In curreent study. both the toxicological safety and the anti-fatigue effect of Sam Tung god of wine were evaluated. All of these will provide the support of safety and laboratory data for industrialization development of Sam Tung god of wine. This paper contained four parts as follows:1. In the safety evaluation of Sam Tung god of wine, the acute toxicity test,Ames tests, detection of the micronucleus rates of bone marrow cells, Sperm shape abnormality test and a 30 days feeding test were performed. In the acute toxicity test, the LD50 of Sam Tung god of wine was more 100g/kg. showing no toxicity actually. The mutagenicity of Sam Tung god of wine was not found in the three mutation tests. Abnormal symptoms and deaths of animals were not observed in 30 days feeding test. No significant difference had been found in body weight, food consumption, food availability, haematology parameters, blood biochemistries, organ/body weight ration, and histological pathology in rats between control and Sam Tung god of wine-treated groups. All the results indicated that Sam Tung god of wine had no toxicity, and it can not cause mutation or heredity toxicity. These suggest that it is safe to develop Sam Tung god of wine in the market.2. To study the anti-fatigue effect of Sam Tung god of wine, the loaded-swimming test was carried out. The LAC. serum BUN, the liver glycogen, blood sugar and the weight were also measured. The results showed that high dosage of Sam Tung god of wine can prolong the loaded-swimming time significantly. The LACs treated with high, medium and low dosage of Sam Tung god of wine were all lower than the control group after swimming. Moreover, the level of serum BUN decreased significantly after high and medium dosage of Sam Tung god of wine treated. The liver glycogen of high dosage group was higher than the control group obviously. In conclusion. Sam Tung god of wine can enhance the body immunity and has the effect of anti-fatigue effect.3. To study the immune function of Sam Tung god of wine, delayed allergy, serum hemolysin. carbon particle clearance,Thymus weight:body weight and Spleen weight: body weight were measured to evaluate the effect of Sam Tung god of wine on the immune competence of mouse. All these results indicated that Sam Tung god of wine could promote the formation of serum hemolysin. enhance the ability of delayed type hypersensitivity and carbon particle clearance. In conclusion. Sam Tung god of wine can regulate the immune competence.
