| OBJECTIVES:To study PD patients’ no-motor symptoms, quality of life andrelated influencing factors.METHODS: A hospital-based cross-sectional study was conducted inSecond Affiliate Hospital of Nan Chang University from September,2011toAugust,2013. A total of116cases of patients with PD were tested by usingNon-Motor Symptoms Questionnaire(NMS Quest), Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD), the39-item Parkinson’s Disease Questionnaire(PDQ-39), ModifiedHoehn-Yahr rating scale (H-Y) and Parkinson’s disease sleep scale(PDSS) toevaluate PD patients’no-motor symptoms, degree of depression, quality of life andsleeping quality.RESULTS: Among116cases of PD,113patients suffer from no-motorsymptoms, averaging out to (8.12±5.4). Incidence of constipation is the highest upto74.1%, followed by forgetfulness (57.7%) and loss of interest (49.1%). Theincidence rate of NMS is related to clinical courser (=0.327), H-Y(r=0.346),HAMD scores(r=0.356) and PDSS scores(r=0.300). Multiple linear regressionanalysis shows that clinical course, H-Y rating and depression are the maininfluencing factors of NMS. Among the8main dimensions of PD patients’ lifequality, the most obvious impairment is resulted in daily activities, followed bycognitive power and athletic ability, while the least impairment is resulted inassociation and social support. Relative analysis by Pearson proves that thereexists a closely correlation between PD patients’ life quality and NMS scores(r=0.392), H-Y rating (r=0.590), HAMD grading (r=0.445), PDSS grading(r=0.594). Multiple linear regression analysis shows that sleeping quality, H-Yrating and depression are the main factors influencing the life quality of PDpatients. CONCLUSIONS: The incidence rate of no-motor symptoms is highamong PD patients. The most common NMS are constipation, forgetfulness andloss of interest. Clinical course, H-Y rating and depression are the dominatinginfluencing factors of NMS. The most obvious impairment of PD patients’ lifequality is resulted in daily activity, cognitive power and athletic ability.Sleeping quality, H-Y rating and depression are the main factors influencing thelife quality of PD patients. |
